Phoenix Pride unites, educates, and engages people to support and empower the LGBTQ+ community and our allies. In accordance with our mission statement, Phoenix Pride is hosting the 5th Annual PHOENIX PRIDE CREATIVE, an initiative meant to engage and promote the creative talent within Arizona.

Phoenix Pride is seeking original expression of individual achievement, challenge, and experience. Artists are encouraged to represent the LGBTQ+ community in creative, bold, and original ways.

Submission Parameters

Phoenix Pride seeks original expressions of individual achievement, challenge, and experience. Artists are encouraged to represent the LGBTQ+ community creatively, boldly, and originally.

Phoenix Pride is hosting the 6th Annual Phoenix Pride Creative, an artistic initiative from February 17 to March 22, 2026, that engages and promotes the creative talent in Arizona.

** Although the winner’s theme art and image will be incorporated into the final Festival theme, Phoenix Pride reserves the right to maintain final decision-making and creative editing to ensure the theme and images fall within the boundaries or constraints of Festival marketing.

How To Enter:

While we encourage entries of various physical mediums, due to space limitations, Phoenix Pride requests that each piece of artwork be electronically submitted through digital means via the link/button above no later than March 22, 2026 @ 11:59 PM (MST) for initial judging. No late submissions will be accepted.

Specifications:

  • Open to any artist residing in Arizona.
  • Submissions can be of any physical medium, including (but not limited to) ceramic, illustration, graphic design, painting, photography, etc. Examples of subject matter could include community progress, equality, a celebration of diversity, and community.
  • Please include a brief description of your artwork, including dimensions and material.
  • The entrance fee is free; additional submissions are $25, with a maximum of (3) total submissions per individual.
  • After the initial judging, semi-finalists will have the opportunity to display their original artwork at our Awards Reception for final judging and will be recognized through Phoenix Pride social media.

Restrictions:

  • No profanity or nudity of any kind will be accepted (Unless in reasonable context of the work being presented. This will be determined on a case by case basis.).
  • If you wish to use models or pictures of any individual, you must provide a signed model release agreement in addition to the submission or it will be immediately rejected from consideration.

Also, take into consideration that we will be using this to post on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and Instagram. Ensure it is within the guidelines and regulations for these social media outlets.

Submission Guidelines:

We will need two submission sizes to ensure that we are able to maximize exposure for the artist and community to see:

  • 336 x 280 (desktop)
  • 320 x 100 (mobile banner ads)
    • Resolution: 300 DPI (minimum)
    • High-quality photos

Note that this does not replace the organization logo in any way, but instead is strictly for main events that Phoenix Pride hosts annually.

FAQ

Is there a fee to enter submissions?

  • Not for your first submission. There is a $15.00 entry fee per additional submission. Artists are eligible to submit up to (3) separate pieces of artwork.

How many awards are there?

  • Phoenix Pride will be awarding three prizes for First, Second, and Third place.

I don’t feel I belong to the LGBT+ Community, but I still want to enter. Can I?

  • Absolutely! The Phoenix Pride Creative is open to all LGBTQ+ community members as well as Allies. If you support us, we support you without any regard towards citizenship status, orientation, nationality, gender, race, religion, or other demographic!

I spend my winter seasons out of state. Can I still enter?

  • Are you a resident of Arizona? If so, you are eligible to enter no matter where you spend your winters!

What is the minimum age requirement?

  • Anyone may enter regardless of age. Young or not-so-young, we welcome you!

My artwork needs to be seen in person. Why do I have to submit my art electronically?

  • Unfortunately, Phoenix Pride does not have the space to accept physical submissions for the first round of judging. All semi-finalist artwork will be invited to be seen and judged in person or slide photograph.

Who are the judges?

  • Final judging will consist of members of the Phoenix Pride Board of Directors as well as local community members.
