Miss Phoenix Junior Pride 2023 crowned at the Rainbows Festival is:

Miss Jasmine Green

On April 1, 2023, on the Community Stage at Rainbows Festival, Jasmine Green Tea was crowned the new Miss Junior Phoenix Pride. She now is the youth representative and face of Phoenix Pride. She and one other contestant named Sir Donyx competed in creative rainbow wear, onstage question, and talent categories. The judges panel included former Mister Junior Phoenix Pride Mulan Rouge, former Mister Phoenix Pride Roman Holiday, Mx. Phoenix Pride Té D DeMornay, Mister Onenten Apollo, and Keri Kramer from onenten.

During the pageant, reigning titleholder Selena Luna Shane stepped down. The pageant is open to youth performers ages 14 to 20. During her talent routine, Jasmine Green Tea danced and did a flag veil routine to SpookshowBaby by Rob Zombie, and Sir Donyx also did a flag routine to a version of Holding Out for a Hero.

Jasmine started doing drag around 14 as part of a school project where students were providing commentary on the dress code. Her life was forever changed when she tried on black lipstick. This was when she knew she wanted to do drag. She is also a fan of wearing corsets in drag. The drag performer started performing in Flagstaff and has mainly picked up drag on her own. She performs once a month at a venue in Flagstaff called the Mayor. Anya C. Mann has served as a mentor for her, giving her drag advice, and she is close to her Flagstaff sisters Rose Chambeau and Chris Mort. She describes herself as an alternative queen who is very much in touch with her Asian heritage. She drew inspiration from Koan from Sailor Moon for her crowning look.

The goal of the Mister & Miss Junior Phoenix Pride Pageant is to encourage youth participation in on-stage performance and encourage more young people to take an active role in being a leader in our LGBTQ+ community. Contestants compete in categories including: Creative Rainbow Wear, On-Stage Question, and Talent. Judges score the contestants in each category.

The preliminary competitions are open to youth ages 14-20. You are invited to come out and support these remarkable young performers on their Road to Royalty.
