“Educating Our Community”

The Phoenix Pride Scholarship Program is a charitable program to provide scholarships to High school seniors, current college students, and adult re-entry students in our community who identify as LGBTQ+ and our allies attending any type of FAFSA accredited postsecondary school. The funds for this program are administered by the Arizona Community Foundation. Since its inception in 2005 (created by Linda Hoffman), the Phoenix Pride Scholarship Fund has awarded $490,500 in scholarships. In 2023 we are slated to award $53,000 in scholarships.

The Phoenix Pride Scholarship Program continues to be supported by contributions from Phoenix Pride and community members who are committed to expanding the educational opportunities for the LGBTQ+ and ally community. The program is currently seeking to increase partnerships with philanthropic individuals, corporations, organizations, and foundations to raise scholarship funding for LGBTQ+ and ally students in the metropolitan Phoenix area.

A Word From Past Awardees

This scholarship will really help me with the increased expenses of college and allow me to become an expert in the subject of law and government. One of my lifetime goals is to be the leader I never saw growing up.

I cannot tell you how grateful and elated I am to have been selected as a 2022 Phoenix Pride Scholarship Recipient! From struggling with my identity to now feeling confident and capable in living and serving as myself, it means the world to me to be recognized and supported by my LGBTQIA+ community.

Thank you so so much for awarding me this scholarship. You have no idea how much I appreciate being chosen as a recipient. This means the world to me. Thank you a million times over for helping me pursue higher education.

Growing up as a queer minority doors have always be closed shut in my face. I have really lost hope working from 3-12 everyday, and now thanks to you all, my whole fate and dreams have been reawaken and I am excited to start a new chapter in my life. From the bottom of my heart thank you to each and every single one of you that saw and have faith in me. You all are not only furthering my education but bettering my life so I could have a better future. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your generous scholarship award. As a previous recipient of the Phoenix Pride scholarship, I have continued to work hard at Barrett, the Honors College at ASU to ensure that your investment in my education is utilized to its fullest extent. Your investment in my education has allowed me to deepen my learning through unique experiences and the addition of the LGBT studies certificate on top of my rigorous curriculum.

Financials surrounding college have been a stressor for me since I began high school. This scholarship means the world to me. Not only does it further my pride as an LGBTQ+ person, but it takes a big burden off my shoulders, and places me one step closer to a less stressful college experience. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity, and can promise you than in the future you will see me making big differences in my community, and can know that you chose the right person. In the purest sense of the phrase, thank you.
